As promised, here is the second part of our roundup of the best iPad stands. As we have already stated, one of the most essential accessories you will find you need with the Apple iPad is a stand. The iPad can be heavy and unwieldy when used to watch long movies or for extended use periods. There are a lot of options out there, from iPad cases and covers that have built in stands, to stand alone units that look good and are very functional. Check below for part 2 of our Great Big iPad Stand Roundup series.

BookGem iPad Stand

The BookGem has a very versatile design able to support iPads, Kindles, Tablets, and eBooks. It has an extremely sturdy ABS structure with a lifetime warranty. This reversible model allows you to situate the iPad at different angles, and is portable as it folds up to the size of a sunglasses case. The BookGem is sturdy on any surface such as an airplane tray, bed, or lounge chair. The BookGem has spring loaded page clips for holding your page in a book, but the tips are sealed with rubber to secure your iPad as well. It’s a steal for $14.95.

Joule iPad Stand

New from Element Case is the Joule work stand for iPad. The Joule insures the iPad will not tip over when using the touch screen. The Joule is CNC made from solid aluminum with an aluminum polished finish or in black. This stand features a magnetically attached tilt foot in the back for simple angle alterations. The bottom is fitted with rubber grip pads so the stand will not move while in position. A velvet lined slot secures the iPad in place. It’s stylish, small, compact, and very high quality. We look forward to posting a more indepth review of this stand later once our own review unit arrives. This is a pricey stand at $129, but looking good has never been cheap.

BookArc iPad Stand

The BookArc Stand from Twelvesouth is beautifully crafted from heavy gauge steal that protects the iPad, while giving it a soft place to nest. BookArc utilizes reversible silicone inserts to secure the iPad in four different viewing positions. With any of these positions, you always have the ability to use the charging port or any other connections. BookArc is a simple but elegant design that makes interacting with your iPad uncomplicated. When you are ready to go, simply disconnect the cables and you are on your way. This unit sells for $39.99.

Griffin A Frame

Griffin’s A-Frame Tabletop stand creates a safe and beautiful resting place for the iPad. This stand of aluminum folds open to clasp the iPad in soft silicone in an upright landscape or portrait position. When you close the legs and flatten the stand, the iPad is held at an optimal angle for table and desktop viewing. The A-Frame is also adaptable for Griffin’s hard-shell and flexible iPad cases, as well as many other brands. The A-Frame will not block any ports so access to chargers and syncing is easy. The stand sells for around $30.

Budget iPad Stands

If you don’t have the money to shell out on a premium iPad stand, there are a variety of cheap options available. These may not look as cool as the other stands, but they cost in the range of $1-$5 and they get the job done. For that price and functionality, you really can’t complain! 3Feet is the best iPad stand on the market. It’s stable, easy to set up, stays in place when it’s in use and is clever in all it’s configurations. I love the color choices too.
