LA company iBallz has recently announced a new form of protection for your iPad: The iBallz. Yes, what every iPad needs, and is sadly missing (other than a camera… and flash support… and a sd card slot…) is pair of black/blue/orange/green/white/red ballz. As everybody already knows, unprotected iPad handling can lead to all sorts of unfortunate gravity related mishaps. The last thing you want is to wake up to a nasty surprise after a night of handling your iPad without protection. The iBallz are there to provide you the security you need and the ballz you were (up till now) sorely lacking.

Four spheres attach to the four corners of your iPad, connected and held in place by an elastic cord creating a “distinctive and stylish modern look.” After hours of refining and molding, iBallz have massaged their product to squeeze every bit of juice out of it that they could to provide a secure and snug fit on your iPad. Their press release states that they have vigorously tested their ballz under both common and uncommon situations to guarantee that they provide the ultimate in protection for your valuable devices. Paired with an iPad screen protector like Zagg’s invisible shield, this could very well be the case.

The video shoes the iPad being dropped and bouncing around safely (allbeit painfully…) on it’s ballz until it finally settles into a happy tranquil supine position.

Retailing for ~$20 this iPad accessory provides a unique form of protection that’s bound to inspire all sorts of inuendos. Though we would never be so crass as to stoop to that level…

Also, if you get the red iBallz they also double as a clown nose, so hey… that’s a deal!

Make your iPad happy and get it a set of iBallz. You can read more about them on the iBallz official website.

Oh, and here’s the promotional video… warning… once you hear the theme song for iBallz, you can never unhear it.

    iballz are rad!

There is a serious design failure where several controls are covered up by the balls. Do you take the balls off to use it — and then put them back on right before you drop it? Buy these not for protection, but to call attention to yourself by making painfully lame ball jokes.
