Cyber Acoustics iCover iPad Case

We recently had the pleasure of receiving the IC-1000 iCover iPad Case made by the guys over at Cyber Acoustics for review. A long time player in the computer audio industry, the guys over at Cyber Acoustics have been around since the 80’s and have built up a very admirable brand over the years. Now they are branching out into the cases and covers industry and doing a very fine job of it. The IC-1000 iCover is their first attempt at creating an iPad case and we are excited to say: This is everything the Apple iPad case should have been! Check out our review below…

Introducing the IC-1000 iCover iPad Case

Cyber Acoustics iCover is a well made, minimalist, and all around useful cover. It is a portfolio style cover with some creative styling features that we haven’t yet seen on other cases of this type. Unfortunately, for an audio and acoustic company, their iPad covers and cases are decidedly lacking in speakers or anything audio oriented. We would have loved to see some speakers or audio centric type features included in this case, but there was nothing of the sort. Nevertheless, there is still plenty to be excited about!

Constructed from very soft leather, the case looks professional and slick. Inside is lined with a soft felt material that will keep dust and smudges to a minimum. The cover doubles as an iPad stand and low angle prop for typing by folding it back and ducking it into the handy tab on the back just like the Apple Case. The angles are perfect, and it provides a solid surface for typing and viewing movies. There are two elastic straps inside the front cover that are used to secure it shut when not in use, this is a very handy feature. Also we really liked the thick elastic strap on the inside of the front cover that can be used as a hand strap to make holding the iPad easy and effortless.

The iPad is held in place in the corners with a unique clear rubber system that we haven’t seen in any other case before. It works quite well, and it provides a good deal of corner protection and shock absorption as well in case of accidental droppage. Of course, all the ports and buttons are easily accessed while the iPad is in this case as well.

A Great Alternative To The Apple iPad Case

Overall, this case is extremely well made. The quality is obvious, and clearly a lot of thought went into the design process to provide the essential features and do them well. While “revolutionary” and “unique” are not terms we would use to describe this iPad case, it’s a well designed, well executed, and very professional looking cover that we would be proud to sport. They have worked hard to solve common problems with other iPad cases in this class and we dare say that they have succeeded admirably! If you have been frustrated with your Apple iPad Case lately, then we wholeheartedly recommend you take a look at this case as another option. Cyber Acoustics has a solid case with the iCover and we can’t wait to see what other cases they come out with next!
