This is a super cool, ultra minimalist cover for your iPad that is cross-compatible with the Apple Smart Cover. We are big fans of the DodoCase iPad 2 book cover, but sometimes you just gotta slim down! This is an adhesive cover for the back of your iPad 2 that is made from the same great Moroccan fabric as the DodoCase. It’s tactile, sexy, and adds no weight or size to your iPad at all. The peel and stick adhesive backing is reusable, and leaves no residue on the iPad itself, plus it gives the back of your tablet an amazing feel. For the ultra minimalist amongst you, we present Zaggs invisibleSHIELD. Now we are already huge fans of ZAGG’s products, and make no secret that we love every single one of them. Before we even take a device outside we make sure it is covered by a Zagg screen protector. It’s our favorite blend of military grade tech and thin transparent material. It is a bear to install, but it protects like a beast! For those of you who love the slick lines and curves of the iPad 2 and want to run almost nude, then this is your safest bet for ultimate protection. It of course will also work with a Smart Cover as well. The invisibleSHIELD for iPad 2 is $39.99
Acase makes a sweet minimalist cover for the iPad 2 with their slim-fit snap on cover. It’s made from polycarbonate with a rubber coating to give it plenty of grip while still being rigid enough to protect your iPad. The reinforced edges and corners will provide solid drop protection, and it’s fully compatible with the Smart Cover! It’s available in Black and Clear (which is pictured) so that the Apple logo actually shows through the back. Very cool! And the Acase Slim-Fit Smart Cover Companion is available for only $14.95.
This is a Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) cover for your iPad 2 that is both minimalist and simple. It has super grippy powers since it’s made essentially of silicone, but it’s not sticky like other silicones. It fits the iPad 2 like a glove, and provides all the added protection and grip you can need, while still being totally compatible with the Apple Smart Cover. The magnets on the smart cover connect perfectly thanks to the cutout on the edge, and all the ports are easily accessible. The Black Smart Cover Companion is available for $14.99
The Case Mate iPad 2 Barely there case is like a thong for your iPad 2. It fits perfectly and provides a nice hard back to protect your iPad from scratches and damage. We reviewed it before and weren’t overly impressed with it due to the higher price and the lack of smart cover compatibility, but they are reworking it right now and within the next few days we should be seeing the new version appearing on the Case-Mate website that will indeed be compatible with the Smart Cover. Once they do this, we can wholeheartedly suggest this case as a great minimalist case, especially because it comes in sexy pink! The Barely There iPad Thong is available for $32.99
Love the feel of leather, but not a big fan of the bulky leather cases available for the iPad 2? Well then you are going to absolutely fall in love with Zagg’s LEATHERskins for iPad 2. Despite their confusing use of CAMELcase lettering on their products, they do indeed make some pretty sweet ones. This is a peel and stick adhesive backing for the iPad that is made of real high quality leather! It looks, feels, and smells like it should, and it adds a touch of class and quality to an already classy and hi end device. We loved our LEATHERskin for the original iPad, and the new ones will be available for the iPad 2 in about a week. We’ll be doing a full review of them very soon!
